Bannockburn House Trust is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) governed by its Constitution. The Trust is made up of both Ordinary Members and Associate Members. Membership is free to join.

Ordinary Members are those who live within a three-mile radius of Bannockburn House. They have voting rights at general meetings and play an important role in helping shape the future of the Trust.

Associate Members can join from anywhere. While they do not have voting rights, they are a valued part of the wider Bannockburn House community and help support the Trust’s aims and activities.

The Board

Bannockburn House Trust is overseen by a Board of Trustees, which is responsible for the governance, direction, and stewardship of the Trust.

From time to time, we recruit new trustees to join the Board. Under our Constitution, the Board may be made up of between 3 and 11 trustees, drawn from Ordinary Members or Co-opted/Associate members, bringing with them a range of skills, experience, and specialist knowledge.

The Board works to oversee the Trust’s activities, ensure good governance, and support the long-term care and future of Bannockburn House. Trustees are expected to act in the best interests of the charity and in line with relevant guidance, including that provided by The Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) and The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO).
